The Eduardo León Jimenes Cultural Center, also known as Centro León, is a Cultural Center and a museum located in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. It is an open, participatory, and educational compound conceived to preserve, strengthen, and transmit the multiple elements and values that come within the art and culture of the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean. This cultural institution is a project of the Eduardo León Jimenes Foundation, Inc., consolidating the trajectory of support to the arts and culture that the León family has been developing. It has a collection of modern and contemporary Dominican art and a collection of pre-Columbian archeology and ethnography pieces of high patrimonial value. All its programs and activities are based on three thematic aspects: creativity, identity, and habitability, with education as a transversal axis. One of its main objectives is to consolidate and promote Dominican identity and its relationship with other nations, cultures, and ethnic groups. It is based in Santiago de los Caballeros, but its impact is both national and international. For more information, visit www.centroleon.org.do
